Is there a blessing, waiting for you behind your ask for help?
Adam’s blessing was. You know Adam–the first man God created? Yeah him.
For those of you who don’t here’s my shorten version: After Adam had named all the animals, He looked around him and noticed that every other species God had created came in pairs—male and female. The four-legged animals, the birds in the air, and the fish of the sea all had their own kind, except for Adam.
Adam realized there was nobody insight like him—no other human being. Adam was alone. Adam was incomplete. So, he decided to ask God a simple request. He said, ” Lord, I need a helper?”
Whenever I re-read the story of Adam, it always intrigues me. I often wonder why God, who is Sovereign, didn’t just create Adam and Eve as a pair, as He had done with other living creatures? Why did He wait for Adam to recognize his need of a helper? Did God not already know that Adam would have need of one?
I also think about the reasoning behind Adam’s request: did Adam ask for a helper because the desire was already in him? In other words, did God place the desire for a helper in Adam when he was created? Or, was it because Adam looked around and saw how complete and harmonious the other creatures lived amongst their communities desired the same?
I want to believe that both reasons were at the core of Adam’s decision to seek God for a helper.
Like Adam, many of us may recall a time in ourselves when we looked around us and it seems like everyone was accomplishing great things. Everyone around us had access to the right people to get them where they desired to be. Everyone– expect for you.
We all desire good things to happen to us especially when we see good things happening for others around us. Unfortunately some of us will never take the time to share our desires with others and in most cases we don’t even share them with God.
If you’re anything like how I use to be, you’re probably asking, “why do I have to share my desires with God when he already knows them?”
Let’s go back to Adam for a moment. Although, God knew Adam had a need for a helper, God waiting for Adam to recognize his desire and then request it before God blessed him with Eve. Adam’s blessing was waiting for him behind the request: I need help?
I’m not sure why God wants us to ask Him for something He already knows we have a need of. But I believe it has a lot to do with us DEPENDING on Him and TRUSTING Him. While God does give us a freewill, He still needs us to rely on Him–as our SOURCE and PROVIDER.
When we recognize our desires and share them with God, He releases divine assistance to help us bring them to fruition.
God can only fulfill the desires we request of Him, and not the ones we think He should already know.
This is why He tells us:Is your blessing waiting for you behind the question: I need help?
If so, don’t continue to delay. Your desire for help is a natural one, and it’s not a sign of weakness. Rather, it’s an indication that we need each other as humans. Decide to seek help today in whatever your heart desires.
Unlike Adam’s time, our world is populated with over 7 billion other humans and we have advanced so much in every area imaginable. The help you are in need to get started on an idea or business project or even in your personal life is literally just seconds away.
Like Adam, we should continue to seek God first for all our heart’s desires and we must also embrace a spirit of expectancy. With that comes our ability to ask help of others that God will place in our path to get us one step closer.
It is not God’s will for us to struggle with bring our desire to reality, especially if it’s one that’s going to positively contribute to humanity. Don’t let your inability to ask for help block the blessing that’s been waiting for you.
Mirror the example of Adam, and so many great men and women in the bible that turned to God for help. And also be prepared to embrace the help of the people and things that God will put on your path to guide you in fulfill your heart’s desires.
Whatever it is you stand in need of in your personal or business life, know that our God continues provide exceedingly and abundantly above all we can ever ask or think. We are all born2bless.
P.S. Please share this with a friend and let’s spread the love of helping each other.
