Do you see what God sees in YOU?
Earlier this week, I asked myself: Sandy, are you clear on what you want for this coming year? I then took it to the Lord in prayer. While in prayer this question was posed: Sandy, are you clear on who you are, and how the Lord sees you?
Now there was the question I really needed an answer to, and yet one I was hesitant to ask.
This question is so important. So many of us have never taken the time to look at ourselves with our own eyes, let alone the eye’s God. Most of what we believe about ourselves is what our environment has told us, which in most cases is a lie or just half the truth.
As we enter a New Year, it’s crucial that we know whose report we will believe about our true selves. Here’s why: life can sometimes be unpredictable. While we can be crystal clear on what we want to accomplish we must be mindful that things can change, and often times they do.
Unforeseen circumstances can prompt us to think less of ourselves. In those times, we can become our own worst enemy. If we want to be clear on what we will accomplish in 2016, we must first be clear on who we are in the sight of God. We cannot accomplish anything great unless we first believe we are great enough to achieve them.
As we approach this New Year, I pray that we abandoned every false perspective that we hold of ourselves and replace them with the true one as seen in the eyes of our Creator.
Here are five scriptures to study and remember as we close this chapter and begin anew:
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Now to Him, who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Psalm 139:14
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
Isaiah 41:10
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Have a joyous and blessed 2016.
Much love and appreciation,
Sandy
